Where Uttarakhand’s High Court is located – Uttarakhand state was taken from the state of Uttar Pradesh on 9/11/2000. At the time of the formation of the state, the High Court of Uttarakhand was also established in Nainital the same day. Since that day, the High Court is functioning in an old building located at Mallia Nainital, which was known as the old Secretariat.

The High Court building is very magnificent and it was constructed in the year 1900. There is a park in front of the building and in the background, Nainital’s highest peak is Naina Peak, which makes the building more picturesque. In the beginning, five courtrooms were made but later more courtrooms were added. In 2007, a huge chief justice court block and a block of lawyers’ chambers were also made.
